Last week we enjoyed another brilliant visit to the Eden Project, Cornwall
What a great place to visit at any time of the year. This was my third visit to the Eden Project and I am always so impressed by what’s on offer there. With over 8000 reviews on TripAdvisor it is clearly one of the top tourist attractions in Cornwall. It was fantastic to visit in December, we felt like we almost had the place to ourselves. I went with my parents and one-year old son Jack and we all enjoyed it equally. I thought Jack would only last an hour or so but we were there for 5 hours and Jack was able to negotiate both biomes with his reigns and loved getting up close with all the unusual vegetation, the roul-roul partridges and Sulawesi white-eye birds, and water features.

There are two biomes – the rainforest and Mediterranean biomes. The 50-metre tall biome houses the world’s largest rainforest in captivity. They are currently working on the next phase of their Rainforest Canopy Walkway – The Weather Maker – which will be open in spring 2017.
There are two main restaurants in-between the two biomes, as well as other smaller food kiosks – this time we ate at the Mediterranean kitchen which was delicious!
Jack also really enjoyed the core building which houses the ginormous Seed, a 70-tonne granite sculpture, and also a brilliant soft play area for under 5’s.

Am I allowed to say my favourite part was the gift shop!! I have heard some of our regular guests say they go there just for the shop (which you don’t need to pay admittance for). They sell a wonderful variety of both exotic and local plants, foods, clothing, award-winning toys and gifts. Their products are ethical, sustainable and many recycled. It was a great place to do my Christmas shopping.
