An all-weather family fun destination near Newquay!

I recently had a friend and her three year old (going on ten year old!) son Charlie, come to stay with us and it was the first opportunity I had had to really investigate local attractions suitable for families with young children.  It also happened to rain the whole three days they were here which made activity selection even more of a challenge!  But I couldn’t believe how much there is in Cornwall for children, I was overwhelmed with choice!

On recommendation, we set out for Dairyland Farm Park near Newquay; an easy 20 minute drive from Butterwell.  It’s open April to October.

All of the on-site activities are all in really close proximity and there’s plenty to do under-cover for rainy days including a fantastic and extensive soft-play area for all ages called the Bull Pen.  There’s drop slides, climbing nets, ball pools and much more.

If your children (or you!) love animals then Dairyland Farm Park is a must!  Organised activities include pat-a-pet, pony rides, bottle-feeding the calves and goats, tractor hayrides and milking the cows.  On top of that the site is packed with other animal enclosures which house pigs, deer, ducks, geese, chickens, donkeys, cows and more.

As well as the animals there are plenty of other attractions for the kids to expel some energy!  Nature trails, mini JCBs, trampolines, climbing frames, sandpits and so on.

This attraction comes highly recommended for kids with lots of energy and enthusiasm for animals and adventure!
