Our family of four absolutely loved our stay at Apple Tree Cottage! We have stayed four years in a row now and again we had such a lovely time. The location is stunning - so relaxing to sit out in the garden with a glass of wine and a BBQ overlooking the Camel Valley, and the perfect spot to cycle from road-free to Padstow too. It really is a unique place. We also love the new updates inside the house - it is now even more homely than before. My husband even spotted a wild otter in the river this time too! We will definitely be back.Thanks so much for another wonderful stay!

This is our 5th visit to Butterwell farm and as usual we didn't want to leave. We had the most relaxing stay in Cobnuts cottage at Butterwell farm. It is a beautifully presented, comfortable and well equipped cottage in a wonderful, peaceful location overlooking the Camel River. It is an excellent base for exploring and there is so much to do on the doorstep. It is good for families, couples and dog owners. We are already planning our next trip!

Wow. This place is beautiful. We had a wonderful few days stay in Kingfisher cabin. It was absolutely spotless and had everything we needed and more. Lots of nice little extra touches. Tucked away at the back of the farm with lots of privacy and a great view with just a short walk to the Camel Trail. If we are ever in the area, we would definitely stay again.

An absolutely fantastic countryside retreat! Butterwell Farm is the perfect place to slow down, recharge and reconnect with nature. Kingfisher Cabin was clean, cosy & beautifully decorated and it had everything you could need. We cannot recommend this gorgeous place highly enough and would absolutely love to stay here again.

Buzzard Barn at Butterwell was absolutely beautiful!You want for nothing when you stay here.The weather was glorious!Our hosts Sam and Rachel, as always made us very welcome.The grounds are pristine.Fishing was a little slow due to the hot weather that we were having, non the less we were not worried that we didn’t catch anything.We hardly left the barn, you didn’t need to. All of the family including the dogs were very relaxed and feel recharged after our stay.We will be back next year.Thank you Sam and Rachel.

Butterwell Farm is literally a haven - beauty, nature, tranquility and calm surrounded by you here. Nothing better than sitting with a cup of tea listening to the birds and watching the endlessly captivating river…..The properties are all beautiful, spotlessly clean and perfectly positioned. So many reasons why Butterwell Farm is our ‘go to’ place when we need to reconnect with all that is good in life.

We have just enjoyed a great week at Apple Tree Cottage (apart from the weather!). We visited Tintagel Castle, Eden Project, Padstow, Lanhydrock, Duchy of Cornwall Nursery and the Royal Cornwall Show, all within about 30 mins by car from Butterwell Farm.When we were in we explored the estate hunting for wildlife, no luck with spotting a beaver or otter, but they probably came out when we were nice and cosy in the newly renovated kitchen and lounge in Apple Tree Cottage

We stayed on Buzzard barn on Butterwell farm, what a wonderful place! Stunning accommodation with everything you could need, beautiful surroundings and views down to the camel river and vineyards. Sam and Rachel who manage the estate could not be friendlier and more welcoming. We all loved it, my son stated it the best place we’ve ever stayed! So much to do and see in the surrounding area too, if only we’d had longer!

Die Butterwell Farm hat uns vom ersten Augenblick verzaubert. Dieser absolut friedliche Ort hat uns absolute Ruhe geschenkt und nur die Schafe, die wilden Hasen, die Eichhörnchen etc. kamen ab und zu vorbei. Das Haus wirkte sogar noch größer als auf den Fotos und ist durch die zwei Ebenen und die süßen, verwinkelten Räume sehr besonders.Es war absolut sauber, es gab jede Menge Stauraum und wir durften sogar frische Eier und Fleisch von Sam & Rachel probieren.Auf der Terrasse steht ein kleiner Kamin, den wir jeden Abend genutzt haben - selbst an heißen Tagen hat es sich abends sehr abgekühlt, sodass wir wunderbar schlafen konnten. Du kannst auch jederzeit zum Fluss runtergehen, dich dort hinsetzen und alle möglichen Tiere beobachten - es war wunderschön ! Absolute Empfehlung von Herzen

The cottage and the surrounding area were even more stunning than in the photos. The Camel Trail was fantastic and being able to walk through it reach Camel Valley vineyard was a great bonus. Sam and Rachel have been very attentive hosts which is evident in every detail such as the guide book in the cottage which helped us hugely to make the most of the property and valley right on our doorstep. It was a relief to see the garden was fully enclosed as described in the listing (we had a little pooch with us) he loved roaming around it and I had peace of mind he won’t escape chasing any wildlife. 10/10 experience and will definitely be coming back.

We had the best time at Kingfisher Cabin! The cabin is beautiful, comfortable and spotless and the kitchen very well equipped. The location is idyllic, with beautiful views of the river, fields and forest from the cabin and access to the farm land for peaceful walks. All the information provided by Rachel and Sam ahead of our stay was very clear and useful.We'd love to come back!

Butterwell Farm was beautiful and enjoyed staying there. It is close to Bodmin which has large supermarket and plenty of places to eat. Cornwall is an amazing place to visit and the Butterwell farm is a great base. We stayed in the Buzzard Barn and it was a lovely place. Lots of space, comfortable beds, and beautiful view out the many windows. Would definitely go back!

We had a great stay at Kingfisher cabin on Butterwell farm. The surrounding areas were beautiful and peaceful with lots of great walks on your doorstep and a short drive to lots of amazing places in Cornwall. There weren't many restaurants/pubs in the immediate area but Rachel & Sam provided lots of recommendations ahead of time to help with what was close by as well as in general being extremely helpful and responsive. The kitchen was also well stocked with equipment for cooking. The immediate garden was secure for our dog which given the surrounding area was important and really cool that you can walk straight on to the camel trail through their grounds. We also had some of their local eggs for breakfast which were great and had sheeps and bunnies roaming around. It's a gorgeous stay and would highly recommend!

This was absolutely the most charming and idyllic home I have ever rented from Airbnb or any competitor. Only suggestion would be to have an electrical outlet in the bathroom so you could dry your hair. Everything was wonderful.

We loved our stay at Cobnuts Cottage! The home is beautifully finished inside and out, feels very homely, and plenty of space for a small family. The kitchen was well appointed, and very easy to cook a proper meal on one or two nights rather than relying on eating out. The home was absolutely spotless when we arrived, with lovely comfy and fresh bedding. The location is excellent for walking and for visits to the local towns like Padstow or St Austell. It is so close to the Camel Trail and a lovely short walk to the vineyard and/or tea room. Definitely need wellies or walking boots if it has rained recently though! Our dogs loved getting out and about on the trails too. The hosts, Rachel and Sam, are excellent. Very prompt communication, with really clear and flexible checking in/out instructions and a very helpful welcome booklet. It was also a refreshing change to not have a long list of cleaning requests when checking out - just to leave the home tidy and give keys back!!

We had a lovely two-week stay at Buzzard Barn. Butterwell Farm was a gorgeous base with peaceful woodland and riverside walks right on the doorstep. Our little one particularly enjoyed visiting the chickens and sheep who were lambing during our stay which was extra special. The barn itself was perfect - cosy and comfortable. The wood burner was a lovely addition and the window seat was the perfect spot to look out for local wildlife. There were some great recommendations for restaurants and places to visit which helped to make the most of our stay. Would 100% stay here again, one of our favourite family holidays so far!

We had a gorgeous time staying here - a beautiful part of Cornwall that benefits from having the peace of the countryside while being a short drive to lots of fantastic beaches and attractions. The house was lovely and really well set up for families and it was great having the fenced in garden area for the dog. Rachel and Sam were impeccable hosts too.

Our family stay at Buzzard Barn to celebrate my birthday was simply fabulous. The cottage was clean and comfortable and beautifully situated overlooking the River Camel and the vineyard on the other side of the valley. There is a window seat with a breathtaking view and a handy pair of binoculars for watching passing wildlife. Such a peaceful comfortable place to stay. We are already planning to return.

We spent a couple of invigorating hours at Polzeath on a blustery day. We made benefit of the farm food produce which was delicious. We wanted a relaxing break to celebrate our wedding anniversary, so we booked a stay at "Kingfisher Cabin."Its location is perfect. Set back from the other cottages with a gravelled parking area, it has a paddock, a seating area, verandah & porch. There are inside & outside log burners; a fully functional, well-equipped kitchen & very cosy lounge / diner with a smart TV. The bathroom has under-floor heating, a sturdy & wide bathtub plus a shower & WC.There is a very wide double bed (which can be split into 2 x twin beds on request.)The build quality of the cabin is superb. Hard to fathom that it was totally built from scratch by Sam, one of the owners.If you open the bedroom window / bi-fold doors in the lounge, you can hear the river flowing & lovely birdsong. So relaxing.We only saw their resident chickens & sheep whilst there.Using the cabin's binoculars, we were however on constant look-out for otters; stoats; foxes; rabbits; moles & of course, kingfishers. They all sadly eluded us but we hope for better luck on our (inevitable) next stay.You can freely roam about their private 40 acre site & join the Camel Trail. Due to wet weather, we didn't explore the site as much as we wanted but loved walking along the river, with no-one else about.We thought we would eat out a lot but found the cabin too cosy to leave! We'd brought basic self-catering supplies with us & had pre-ordered some of their eggs (great value at £1.50 for 6.) Also visited the tiny "Keaters Farm Shop" in the village (basically at the end of someone's garden) for veggies, meat / pies etc.If you're not familiar with rural areas, be prepared to drive down very narrow, country lanes to get to / from the cabin. There are many passing places so just go along slowly & it'll be fine.I could keep going on but can't recommend a stay here highly enough. Do yourself a favour & book it up now!

A beautiful cabin in the most gorgeous location! We fell asleep to the sound of owls and woke to birds chirping and rabbits in the hedgerows. Perfect base to explore Cornwall and super cozy inside for when the weather keeps you in. Would highly recommend.

We spent the most wonderful 11 nights at Butterwell Farm over Christmas and New Year.We took Cobnuts Stable which was the perfect size for the two of us and two young children.The house was furnished beautifully and was equipped with absolutely everything we could have needed. It really felt like ‘home’ and made our Christmas truly magical.The farm itself is stunning and really conveniently located. You can be on the camel trail within a few minutes walk and in Bodmin within a 5/10min drive but at the same time you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere.Due to everything being so perfect we had very little reason to contact Rachel and Sam but when we did we got responses almost immediately and you can tell in ever corner of the cottage just how much love and care they put into everything.Thank you so much for creating an experience that gave us and our kids the best Christmas yet x

Cobnuts was a beautiful home in a beautiful location. Attention to detail was exceptional and the welcome was very warm. It felt like a home from home with everything you could possibly need Rachel and Sam were in touch during our very short stay which was comforting and not at all intrusive. Their property offers excellent value for money in my opinion and we hope to return in the summer to take full advantage of this amazing location.

A special location surrounded by nature. It’s the perfect retreat if you’re looking to get away from the city and have a few days of peace and quiet. The house was super comfortable and the perfect size for 4 people. The floor is heated which makes a huge difference when it’s cold (definitely did for us). The house has a fireplace in the living room to give you that perfect cosy cottage vibe. Outside the house you’ll find big fields, with animals running around and a river nearby too. Waking up in the morning and looking outside the window was an experience on its own.One piece of advice, the location is slightly far away from any major big city. The closest city we’d usually end up going to was Bodmin which is useful if you need anything urgently. However I would recommend taking everything you’d think you need while at the property. Oh and they don’t provide shampoo/body wash/toothpaste so definitely take that with you.

We have just returned from a wonderful Christmas week away at Butterwell Farm staying in the lovely Buzzard Barn.This accommodation and surroundings exceeded our expectations in so many ways and really helped to achieve a lovely family Christmas.The estate and views are absolutely stunning and the barn has been configured to really maximise the views.The beds were SO comfortable with good quality linen which was hugely appreciated. The kitchen was very well equipped with lots of space. We are keen to book again to discover more of the gorgeous area. HUGE thank you from all of us!

A fantastic location, private, secluded and picturesque, irrespective of the weather, this is a beautiful bolt hole. The cabin so well equipped and there is keen attention to detail. The Camel Trail to the Borough Arms is an enjoyable stroll with the added bonus of a nice pint at the end. We look forward to a return visit in the near future. Thanks Sam and Rachel

It was so calm and refreshing. The location is perfect too, quiet and tucked away, yet close to Bodmin, the Camel Trail, and the coast, so we could explore easily before returning to our cosy haven each evening.Our stay was extra special because I proposed to my girlfriend while we were in Cornwall, and Kingfisher Cabin became part of that story. It was the perfect place for such a moment, private, peaceful, and full of warmth. We will always remember watching the sunset from the deck and stargazing under the clearest skies we have ever seen.The hosts were absolutely brilliant, friendly, helpful, and clearly passionate about what they do. After a wonderful stay at Cobnuts Cottage last year, we couldn’t wait to return to Butterwell Farm—and Kingfisher Cabin was just as special (if not more). Surrounded by peaceful countryside and the gentle sounds of the river and wildlife, it was the perfect place to unwind. Relaxing on the veranda with tea in the morning and wine in the evening was perfect! We loved being able to walk the dog straight onto the Camel Trail, and the location is ideal for exploring the area, with plenty to see and do nearby. 4 nights away with my partner and 3 small dogs. Lovely spot!! Roads windy and narrow on approach to the house. Clean and spacious with everything you need. 3 steep steps between main bedroom/lounge and kitchen/diner which my old dog couldn't manage, however baby gates situated at both top and the bottom so no worries of her falling as we just closed access and carried her. Real central location for beaches, towns, castles and national trust walks between 10-30 min drive as well as the camel trail literally out the back gate. Very peaceful, only the sound of the river and owls were heard-stayed over firework night didn't have any trouble with noise! We hope to stay again in the spring, great spot.

Just back from a fabulous stay at Buzzard Barn to celebrate a family birthday.The property is very spacious, clean and well equipped for a great family holiday.We loved having two bathrooms, as its so much easier for a larger group.The log burner got used and kept us toasty in the evenings.The views from the window in the lounge are spectacular, I see why my Son wanted us to join him this time.Plenty of places close by to visit, we did Eden project, Tintagel, Pinetum Gardens and of course Camel Valley Winery.Would we visit again, yes definitely.Thanks Sam and Rachael

Just returned from a fabulous stay at Butterwell Farm. We stayed in the Buzzard Barn which was beautiful, the place has amazing views over the valley and is so peaceful. It was spotlessly clean and very well equipped.The location is perfect easy to reach both coastlines in 40mins by car. The best part for us was being on the Camel Trail and so able to cycle directly from the property to Padstow and of course in the other direction.Thanks for a great week, already looking forward to returning!

Wir hatten "Cobnuts Stable" für 5 Nächte gebucht und waren total begeistert.Die Ferienwohnung und ihr Grundstück ist rundum eingezäunt, von der Terrasse hat man einen tollen Blick auf das Tal, den Fluss und den gegenüberliegenden Weinberg.Das Cottage ist rustikal gemütlich eingerichtet. Es ist alles vorhanden was man benötigt. Man fühlt sich wie zuhause.Wir würden die Butterwell Farm uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen.

We can’t say enough good things about Kingfisher Cabin. It’s a very attractive/cosy accommodation in a beautiful and very peaceful and private setting. There is everything you need in the cabin and Rachel has created the world’s best information folder on the Butterwell Farm estate, surrounding area and lots of local pubs/restaurants etc. The Camel Trail is no more than a 10 minute walk, direct through the estate - we did a circuit walk to explore one afternoon and another day we hired bikes from Bridge Bikes (very good) in Wadebridge and rode the trail out to Padstow and back - a very easy ride through beautiful scenery. You can see The Camel Valley Vineyard just across the river from the cabin so we did their tour/tasting which was very friendly informative and well worth the money.Rachel & Sam were great hosts - we didn’t meet them but they were friendly, very helpful and quick at responding.Thanks to you both.

We had a lovely time at Kingfisher Cabin, it was so peaceful and just what we needed to unwind for a couple days. We also loved the fact that we didn’t need to get in the car to go anywhere, we just walked through the grounds and straight onto the Camel trail. We will definitely be back and next time for longer.

Firstly, a big thank you to Rachel and Sam for being so friendly and making it so easy to stay at Butterwell Farm, with the self check in and check out they provided. The cottage was delightful, both with the surrounding countryside and scenic views, but also with how comfortable and cozy the cottage itself was. We felt right at home the moment we set foot in the front door, and everything was all clearly laid out for us, so it was easy to unpack and relax. We had no issues whatsoever with the cottage, nor with Rachel and Sam. But we knew that they were both responsive and down the end of the phone if we needed anything which was nice. The cottage was fresh and clean, and we didn’t really need to do anything as guests, so it was an easy stay, and everything felt like a breeze. Finally, we would find it easy to recommend Butterwell Farm to anyone looking for a scenic and peaceful cottage out in Cornwall. Thanks again to Rachel and Sam for the stay.

Thank you Sam and Rachel! We stayed with our 3 children (10, 7 and 5) and found lots to do on the farm with walks, wild swimming and swings in the woods. The sea trout fishing is excellent too. The camel trail access was quite unique for a country stay which allowed us to get out on bikes and running without facing narrow lanes. Butterwell is ideally located to enjoy most of Cornwall. Sam and Rachel were lovely hosts. We'd love to come back!

It was like a stay in heaven. Peaceful absolutely stunning location looking out to the river and vineyard beyond. The lodge was warm and cozy. Immaculate. Everything works. The location was suitable for cycling to the camel trail and beyond with my 10 year old son. We will definitely be back again to make more memories…maybe with the dog too next time.

What a beautiful place , stunning location, amazing views ,The cottage was way better than we expected , from the large bedrooms , relaxing lounge with the amazing view, large kitchen with everything you need, the beautiful river where you can stroll along to your own access to the camel trail!First class communication with the hosts , any questions we had were dealt with promptly. Some lovely touches also, a selection of tea coffee and some lovely biscuits were very welcome on our arrival as we hadn’t got to the shops !I honestly can’t fault a single thing about our stay and all my family felt really sad when we had to leave!If you can book it as soon as your can you won’t regret it .We stayed in buzzard barn.

What a beautiful place! We stayed with our toddler and she loved it. A great private place along the river for her to splash around and deep enough for us to have a quick dip after cycling to and from Padstow. The cabin itself was really cosy and clean with a nice big bed and our hosts were really proactive with providing info about the area etc. We came straight from Rock Oyster festival which was nearby and they kindly let us know when the cleaners had finished so that we could check-in early which was greatly appreciated! Would definitely recommend and will stay again 👍🏻

We had a lovely stay at Cobnuts. The location of the farm in Camel Valley is beautiful and so peaceful and the accommodation itself was clean, well equipped and comfortable. We went with our toddler who loved watching the sheep, playing in the river and feeding the chickens! It was perfect for day trips to the beach and the Eden project as well as lazy days exploring the farm.

Die Wohnung ist sehr gemütlich, komfortabel, sauber und mit allem nur Erdenklichen ausgestattet. Die Lage des großen Grundstücks mitten in der Natur und das Grundstück selber sind ein Traum. Die ausliegenden Informationen und Empfehlungen waren sehr hilfreich. Wir haben die Zeit sehr genossen und können jeden nur empfehlen, dort ebenfalls Zeit zu verbringen!

Absolutely beautiful place! Wonderful walks right from the door, and even more short drives away. The garden (Apple Tree Cottage) is a really lovely addition to the property, we spent a lot of time out there having breakfast/coffees in the sun. The whole place is great for dogs! I cannot put into words how perfect our stay in Kingfisher Cabin was. The location is perfect, not just in terms of location in Cornwall (30m to north or south coast and about 1hr to west) but mainly because it sits on the Camel river hidden away from everyone.We barely saw another soul all week and adored the privacy we got (but still also knew Rachel & Sam were available if we needed them).The cabin was beautiful and homely, too many airBnBs are sparse and clinical these days whereas Kingfisher Cabin felt cosy.Kitchen was super well stocked for cooking every night.We loved the picnic bench for eating outdoors but also that there were comfier chairs on the balcony for relaxing too, although most evenings we sat by the river!We were lucky enough to see brief glimpses of a kingfisher on a couple of evenings as well as a woodpecker and lots of robins! Rabits on the lawn every morning as well as daily walk bys by the sheep!Perfect week and painful to leave, thankyou so much!

We were a family group with a baby and 2 small dogs. Apple tree cottage was perfect for us. It was very well equipped and comfortable. The dogs enjoyed the good sized garden and we enjoyed the eggs from the chickens just over the path. Beautiful views across the Camel Valley and nice walks along the Camel Trail. An excellent base for a holiday in Cornwall. Many thanks to Rachel and Sam for a lovely week.

We had a wonderful time. The house is lovely, the photos really don’t do justice to the charm of the area. I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the kitchen, it looked smaller in the photos but was actually spacious. The rooms are great, with high-quality furnishings and plenty of kitchen amenities. The owners are absolutely lovely – we had the chance to meet Sam and the children. The river is within walking distance, and we had sheep around us every day. Highly recommended.

Beautiful barn, set on a beautiful farm with beautiful surroundings. Our hosts were communicative and helpful from the start, there when we needed them but left in peace if we didn’t; couldn’t have asked for more!

Buzzard Barn was perfect for a family holiday. Rachel and Sam were super helpful. The location is ideal and it is set up for kids really well. We have two under two and didn’t have to worry about our toddler - super safe garden, built in stair gate and cot beds and high chairs were provided for us! We will definitely come back, it’s the sort of place we can imagine returning to year after year.

My stay in Kingfisher cottage was absolutely delightful! It was everything I had dreamed it would be. Fabulous facilities, location, views and the tranquility was to die for. The kingfisher cabin is absolutely lovely, the pictures really don't do it justice. We came for the quiet and immersive nature experience and we got it, we did day trips but also enjoyed the local walking areas. The availability of lamb and fresh eggs right from the farm was a treat...we enjoyed making the roasted lamb one evening and it delicious. Next time we plan to stay longer 😃

The house was exceptionally well-equipped, especially the kitchen, which had everything we needed for festive cooking. We cooked daily, with plenty of tableware to accommodate our needs.The upstairs living area offered breathtaking views of Camel Valley through large windows, while the cozy log burners provided warmth, creating an ideal spot to unwind after exploring the outdoors. The downstairs bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and comfortable, ensuring restful nights. However, light sleepers might hear footsteps from upstairs.The surrounding area is filled with activities, from bike rides to scenic walks. The kids loved feeding the chickens, and nearby beaches were just a 30-minute drive away, perfect for coastal fun. Rachel and Sam were wonderful hosts—always responsive and incredibly helpful. Lovely warm cabin with great views of the River Camel. Cabin fully equipped with all one,s needs for a wonderful stay. Rachel and Sam very friendly and inviting hosts. Area full of potentially great wildlife. Although the otter alluded us, fox, stoat and some great birdlife were seen every day. Dolphins and porpoises to seen from the northern coastal headlands. Excellent walking with reasonable public transport links that make the linear walks on the Camel trail more accessible.

This Airbnb made for a lovely first get away for me and my boyfriend. Ideal being a stones throw from the Camel Trail, we were able to run a fair distance and accidentally ended up running to the local Sainsbury’s. We were a drivable distance from the lovely Padstow, St Issac and St Ives where we were able to do lots of shopping and eating. We got to see the hens on Rachel & Sam’s farm on the final day and even was able to buy some eggs to take home. This is a lovely home from home, beautifully furnished, warm and large enough that you never feel cramped. I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a peaceful and active getaway. Don’t forget to visit Bude Sea Pool too! Thank you to the lovely hosts

A Cornish gem We have just returned from our annual holiday at Butterwell and as always, we had a fantastic week. Lucky with the weather, we had day trips to St Ives, Newlyn, Mousehole, Looe, Polperro, Padstow and lots of stunning sandy beaches such as Watergate Bay, Carbons Bay and Sandymouth Bay. My dog Barney was in his element! I even managed to catch a few fish in the couple of hours fishing I squeezed in most days. Thoroughly recommended and we hope to be back next year!

The location is perfectly nestled just off the river. You are about 10 minutes to town, and we went to the beaches about an hour away. Everything was as described, and our kids loved the chickens and sheep. We would recommend for a nice family getaway, and if you're into fishing, it looks perfect.

Our stay at Buzzard Barn at Butterwell Farm was pure perfection. The photos do not do it justice because the view when you arrive of the rolling hills on one side and the camel valley vineyard in front is just breathtaking.The house itself feels really private with your own garden which is dog safe and fenced off. Then in front you have fields with grazing sheep and the river camel trickling through the bottom of the grounds. At night there is unblocked viewed and tiny bats flying around - magical! The bbq and outside furniture is a great added bonus.The inside was spotless - I couldn’t fault it. The house and rooms itself are much larger than the photos suggest with an upside down structure so you enter ‘the upstairs’ which has the sitting room, dining table and large kitchen. Everything you need to cook up a storm and enough room for 7 adults.The bathrooms were spotless and powerful showers, the bedrooms were comfy and all were a good size - again fitting 7 with ease.The communication from Rachel and Sam was the best I’ve experienced- they are super informative, fast, helpful and proactive, but also let me ask a lot of additional or repetitive questions at times!I also recommend trying the Butterwell farm lamb and eggs - AMAZINGIf you want to have pre prepared food delivered then I also really recommend Saltyshed for a celebration. Another great stay at Cobnuts.This was our 4th time staying at this beautiful place.The Camel Trail is just a short distance so you can jump on your bikes and explore the wonderful places that are literally on your doorstep.

A very comfortable cottage in a perfect location. The proximity to the Camel Trail was great both for walking and cycling. Nanstallion is perfectly positioned for visiting all of north Cornwall. Rachel and Sam were very accommodating and a pleasure to deal with.

A place to relax, chill and unwind We stayed at Cobnuts cottage. This place is amazing. So peaceful and picturesque. We have a view of the Camel Valley vineyard. The cottage itself has everything you could possibly need. The kitchen is well equipped. If you are looking for somewhere to chill this is the place for you. Also the cottage is not far from the beaches. We liked Carlyon bay and Fistral beach.

Our stay at Butterwell Farm was pure perfection. The photos do not do it justice because the view when you arrive of the rolling hills on one side and the camel valley vineyard in front is just breathtaking. The house itself feels really private with your own garden which is dog safe and fenced off. Then in front you have fields with grazing sheep and the river camel trickling through the bottom of the grounds. At night there is unblocked viewed and tiny bats flying around - magical! The bbq and outside furniture is a great added bonus.The inside was spotless - I couldn’t fault it. The house and rooms itself are much larger than the photos suggest with an upside down structure so you enter ‘the upstairs’ which has the sitting room, dining table and large kitchen. Everything you need to cook up a storm and enough room for 7 adults.The bathrooms were spotless and powerful showers, the bedrooms were comfy and all were a good size - again fitting 7 with ease.I cannot wait to return

We have just returned from a week at Butterwell Farm, staying in the Buzzard Barn, and couldn't have been happier. The accommodation was clean, comfortable, quiet and had everything we needed. Views and outside space were beautiful. The children loved seeing the sheep in the morning and feeding the chickens! Rachel and Sam answered any questions we had immediately and nothing was too much trouble. Lots of lovely walks for the dogs. Thank you for making our holiday so lovely!

We (a couple, travelling from Australia) had a lovely weeklong stay in Cobnuts Stable. Very comfortable accommodation, kitchen well stocked with everything needed to make yourself and home, and a beautiful outdoor sitting area to enjoy the surrounds.Great walks along the river and to the camel trail, plenty of birds, lambs and the occasional squirrel visitors. An ideal to spot to relax and be amongst nature, but also very easy to use as a base to explore Cornwall. There were maps & pamphlets of the various regions in Cornwall, plus good WIFI to be able to easily plan out our various adventures.The owners Rachel & Sam also communicated very well, with great recommendations for the local area and all necessary information to easily locate the cottage, checkin and be self sufficient (but with help available if preferred). For us, it was perfect and have no hesitation recommending others.

We have just had a week's stay at Buzzard Barn and found it warm, comfortable, clean, quiet and it had everything we needed. The outside space was lovely and the kids loved feeding the chickens and seeing the sheep in the morning! Thank you for a making our holiday so lovely

This property is outstanding. Lots of room within property and extremely peaceful. Stunning views over to Camel Vineyard.Property had lots of character features and kitchen was well stocked. Also important for us as location which allowed us to visit a variety of places such as Padstow, eden project and tintagel all within easy driving distance. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay

I truthfully cannot recommend Butterwell Farm enough! Rachel and Sam have not only a welcoming nature and a location setting that makes you feel like you are in a paradisial home but the accommodation has all the amenities and is decorated with such elegance and class. The farm itself is blissful, beautifully cared for and peaceful with the wonderful Jacob sheep doing their rounds. The location is also close to some of the highlights of Cornwall including the Eden Project, Padstow, Tintagel Castle and Polzeath Beach - all of which I would recommend. Thank you so much for such a wholesome and relaxing holiday! My parents, I and even the dog absolutely loved it!

This can only be described as an ideal spot. It is well organised allowed for our dog Nema a very active Dalmatian to enjoy very good walks and the time to run free at the appropriate time and space. The Owners are a delight with both a caring attitude and busy maintaining the environment and keeping all as it should be. There sheep are a delight and they encourage activities locally along with some very fine local venues to visit and enjoy. The Camel trail is just a few minutes away across the river and offers bike enthusiasts the chance to stretch their wheels along with long walks for man and beast. There are some restrictions you have to be aware of but if you care about nature and keeping both yourself, pets and wildlife safe they are not at all difficult or restrictive.It was a joy to be here and we have decided to make it a firm holiday destination well worth all cost. Great value for money and as a disabled wheelchair user easy to make yourself comfortable and at home with views and wildlife to keep you entertained. No need for articulation entertainment you can get lost in the serenity of this gorgeous cottage break

Such a beautiful place set in a peaceful part of cornwall away from the crowds. We were very fortunate with the weather and enjoyed outdoor walks along the camel trail situated a stone throw from the cottage. I would highly recommend this place for a most relaxing experience. Lovely accommodation with all you need for a peaceful and relaxing break.

We have just spent a week in the Cobnuts property as a family. The property is fabulously finished, beautiful inside and out. The kitchen is very well stocked with glasses cutlery etc. The kids were happy that the WI-FI worked really well and TV in every room. They were really happy to feed the farm chickens and they even got to feed the newly born lambs as well.The property is very well located to visit most places in Cornwall. The north and south coasts are around 30 minutes drive away.

The accommodation is giving you whatever you need for a peaceful holiday. It sits on a very amazing location. You can watch the river all day long, changing its face minute by minute. We had wonderful times.

Hidden Gem This is one of the nicest cottages I’ve stayed in . It is cosy and comfortable and fitted out to a really high standard. The hosts are lovely and views across the valley are restful. Great walks straight from the door to the Camel Trail, close to the tea room and vineyard, what could be better!

Lovely retreat to a stunning area of outstanding beauty. Beautiful views from the cabin. Enjoyed river walks and wildlife. Heron and geese. Watching the little birds at the bird feeder was a nice touch just outside the balcony and the resident pheasant. Easy walking distance for the camel trail through the estate when passable. Unfortunately due to the weather this wasn’t possible by bike during our stay but easily accessed by road. Nice meals from The Borough Arms and Half Way House a short drive away. Fully equipped and cosy cabin having everything you need available for a pleasant stay. If it’s privacy, peace, tranquility, stunning views, wildlife and nature you’re after then I can’t recommend this place enough

Superb location and wonderful holiday We had a fantastic time at butterwell farm staying in Buzzard barn. The location is excellent with just a short walk across to the camel trail which we used numerous time for trips down to wadebridge and Padstow with the kids. The house is brilliant with everything you need. It was spotlessly clean with wonderful views down over the river. We used the bike store for all of our kit and the hose for the wet muddy days, everything has been thought about. Thank you to San and his wife for providing such a great home. We will be back.

We had a brilliant time at Cobnuts. The place was absolutely spotless it didn’t seem like anyone else had stayed there! Beds were incredibly comfy and everything was fresh and clean. We cycled some of the camel trail which is about a 10 min walk with bikes from the properly - it has its own gate. This was very muddy as it was raining, but it didn’t matter! Would stay here again, thank you!

Can’t wait to go back! Kingfisher Cabin is cosy, warm and inviting, with the most beautiful views and sounds of the countryside. Perfectly furnished for comfortable evenings taking in the scenery, or curled up under a blanket in front of the log burner. We appreciated the little touches (eco-friendly cleaning products; helpful notes dotted around), and Rachel responded quickly to any questions. Good location for visits to Bodmin, Padstow, Port Isaac, Rock, etc. Thoroughly recommend St Kew Farm Shop for a hearty breakfast and, if you fancy a takeaway treat after a long walk, the local Dominos deliver straight to the cabin door! A genuinely wonderful stay, thank you so much!

Beautiful inside and out, Cobnuts felt like home from home in the most peaceful, private setting. I couldn’t not fault the spec of the interiors and everything was spotlessly clean. It felt quite decadent for me and my dog, so plenty of room for more. Hosting friends for dinner on my last night, they were also extremely impressed. The kitchen was so well equipped, and nice touches everywhere. The information book was super helpful and I know the hosts were on hand for any questions. A short drive to stunning beaches, but the Camel Trail (and some friendly sheep) literally on your doorstep. I hope to come back!

Our second stay in Buzzard Barn. It really is a little slice of heaven to wake up and look out at the beautiful view over the river. Wonderful walks and beautifully furnished with cosy log burner.Rachel and Sam are very responsive and helpful.We have only stayed in winter, but can imagine it would be even more stunning in the summer, when you can sit outside and enjoy the ambiance.We will certainly be back.

We had a fantastic break at Butterwell. If you are looking for a great location to explore everything Cornwall has to offer, and at the same time hunker down. Where do I start. From start to finish it has been an absolute joy staying at Cobnuts and Rachel and Sam have been immense. From the moment we got there to the moment we left, Rachel was always on hand to answer my questions swiftly. The place is gorgeous and you can tell it has been recently renovated. The surroundings are BEAUTIFUL. Short walk down to the river, sheep grazing by your window, views across to the local vineyard and acres of private, ancient woodland to explore. If you’ve saved this as potential place to stay, just book it now as you won’t regret it.

We had an absolutely wonderful time at Sam and Rachel's beautiful Airbnb. Set in absolutely stunning surroundings it was so peaceful. There is a stunning view across the river to the Camel Vineyard and a stunning walk across their land to the Camel trail, even on a frosty day in the winter. Such peaceful surroundings with only the sheep and occasional pheasant for company! And the interior was so beautiful, like a home from home. Spotlessly clean and tidy, very well equipped kitchen, very luxurious bathroom and lots of lovely homely touches. We very much enjoyed cosying up by the log burner too. They even decorated the place for Christmas! Would highly recommend and hope to visit again in the future! Thank you😊

Kingfisher Cottage We stayed at Kingfisher Cottage located next to the River Camel. Lovely cosy cottage with everything you need for a self catering holiday. Easy walking distance of the Camel trail. Great location for exploring Padstow and Newquay. A very unique wooden lodge. We will be going back, hopefully in the spring. Autumn is a lovely time to see this part of the world.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Buzzard Barn. On arrival, we were blown away by the quality of the accommodation, particularly the kitchen which was stocked with decent pots, pans, and cutlery - not always something you can guarantee at a holiday let. The addition of tea and coffee was greatly appreciated.The children loved being able to see the sheep from the window, and enjoyed feeding the chickens. We all enjoyed exploring the estate and the incredible view from the living room window seat.We all slept incredibly well on the comfy beds in cosy, beautifully decorated bedrooms.There is so much to do and visit in the surrounding area that we filled our week easily. But we especially enjoyed the short walk to the River Camel and Camel Trail which we explored several times throughout the week.Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend Butterwell Farm to friends and family.

Idyllic stay We are a ‘fishing family’ and had a 4 night stay in Appletree cottage with our 3 dogs. The cottage is very comfortable and beautifully equipped with an enclosed garden. Comfortable beds, spacious living room, a wood burning stove and lots of hot water. Perfect for cold fishermen!

This was our second stay at kingfisher cabin and it was as good as we remembered! The cabin is well equipped and cosy with the log burner and excellent insulation (we went to save our dogs anxiety from fireworks and while there were some, he didn’t hear a peep). The situation is ideal for a peaceful weekend with plenty of walks and loads of nature around!

Had a fabulous stay at this lovely private cottage with great walking from the door. The view is even better than the photos. Our daughters loved the chicken food that was left so we could go and feed the farm’s chickens.We were visiting family so most of our time was taken up by trips to see them in different parts of Cornwall. The cottage is a short distance from the A30 which was really important for us. On our last day we did stay in the area and walked from the cottage around the owner’s beautiful ancient woodland, and then onto the camel trail. It was also easy to get by car to local towns, and lovely beaches within 20/25 minutes (we loved a windswept trip to Trevone Bay for wave jumping and watching all the bodyboarders).Thanks for a great stay! We would definitely recommend Cobnuts.

Wow, where do I even start? Our stay at Rachel and Sam's place at Butterwell Cottages in Cornwall was an absolute dream. Right from the moment we arrived, we were swept off our feet by the beauty of the place. The cottage we stayed in was gorgeous, spotlessly clean, and so cozy - it felt like a home away from home.Rachel and Sam were amazing hosts, they were super friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. They have this knack of being around when you need them while giving you your space to enjoy the serene surroundings.The outdoors were just as splendid. The pristine, breath-taking views around the cottage were like scenes straight out of a picture book. It was so refreshing to just take a walk and soak in the natural beauty around. And the best part? My dog had as much fun as we did, with plenty of space to run around and explore.Every corner of Butterwell Cottages exudes a warm and welcoming vibe, making our stay incredibly enjoyable.

We had a wonderful stay at Kingfisher Cabin. It is cosy, secluded and peaceful and a really fantastic place to relax. The kitchen is very well equipped , the shower is good , and the living area is spacious and comfortable. The Wi-Fi is excellent.The views and walks from the cabin are fantastic :there is plenty of bird life and it was lovely to sit on the veranda listening to the sound of the river. A highlight was visiting the Camel Valley Vineyard ( a very pleasant twenty minute walk away ) and sitting on the terrace there in the sun drinking delicious fizz. Rachel and Sam were quick to respond to any messages and have thought of everything you might need to have a perfect holiday.Highly recommended.

Return visit to an amazing place We have just returned from our second visit to Butterwell. And it didn't disappoint. Welcomed warmly by Rachel and Sam .They work so hard and it shows . Spotless accommodation and the most comfortable bed EVER . I have recommended to family and friends . We will be booking again .

The location of the property was stunning with the upside down lay out of the property making the most of the views. The garden was secure and excellent for our dog to run around in with easy access to the Camel Trail for walks. The accommodation was great with more than enough room for 5 adults and a dog and the facilities were spot on, the kitchen was extremely well equipped. There was a book with some suggestions for eating out and sightseeing, which was really helpful, but to be fair the property and location were so nice to come back to after a day out that we ate there as much as going out... we made the most of the BBQ and outdoor furniture. I would highly recommend Buzzard Barn, didn't want to leave and genuinely hope to return one day.

The location was perfect for us and our dog, within easy reach to various coastlines but yet still benefiting from the tranquility of Butterwell Farm. Rachel and Sam were great hosts and we will revisit for sure.

The rustic cottage provided a cozy retreat for a peaceful weekend getaway. The beds were so comfortable- perfect after a long day out of exploring.One of the highlights of our stay was feeding the chickens, walking amongst the sheep and we particularly enjoyed the fresh eggs each morning – a simple pleasure that added to the authenticity of the experience.

The place was soo nice and cozy. In a beatiful location with amazing views.Rachel and Sam were great at communicating with us and we even ordered some of the eggs from their own farm.Close to a lot of good spots like Eden Project as well as the camel trail that is connected to the farm.Would definitely recommend.

We have stayed at Apple Tree Cottage twice now, and just returned from our most recent stay. Butterwell farm is in the most beautiful spot, with easy road free access to the Camel Trail which we love to cycle on as a family. It is wonderful to stay in such a beautiful rural spot yet be able to easily cycle into the lovely Padstow (or in the opposite direction for something different), and for this reason it is a unique property for us. The views from the garden over the valley are fantastic, and we always enjoy sitting outside with a BBQ. It is also the perfect location to walk over to the Camel Valley vineyards for a couple of glasses of wine overlooking the valley back to Butterwell.We have found it quite unusual to be able to find a holiday property with everything we need and want to cook with, but this property has an abundance of high quality cooking equipment for the days that we want to cook at home.The owners, Sam and Rachel, couldn’t be more helpful, and were very quick and considerate in dealing with an issue that arose during our stay. Thank you both for everything you did for us, and we certainly hope to see you again.

BEAUTIFUL! You will not regret staying here. It is very private and homely. Extremely clean, well equipped with everything you need and more. The only negative is that we didn't book for longer. Gorgeous surroundings. Easy to get to places. The hammock was an additional bonus! Hosts were great - very helpful information before arriving and information packs within the property made for an easy trip. Sad to leave.

What a lovely holiday, a comfortable roomy and clean cottage in a peaceful, beautiful location, especially the river valley views! Lovely countryside walks, straight out of the front door. Rachel and Sam are great hosts they made us feel really welcome.

Butterwell Farm is in idyllic quiet setting beside the River Camel which meanders through the property.The cottages are very comfortable indeed and everything there for a cosy stay, in the winter there is a lovely wood burner with plentiful supply of seasoned logs.Dog friendly. Our border collie loved it, would highly recommend, lots of places to visit and see as well as late season salmon fishing. Rachael and Sam are wonderful hosts and Butterwell is a great place to stay.

Loved the fact that it was built by Sam!The area was beautiful and we spent hours exploring the wood, walking by the river and fishing. Sam was so informative and helpful.We explored the Camel trail- really recommend the Camel tea gardens- only a short walk up the trail.So much to see and do in the local area.A very relaxing and refreshing break 🙂

We had a lovely break at Buzzard Barn, the views are beautiful. The barn itself is done to a very high standard. We had two toddlers, a teenager two adults and an OAP and everyone loved there stay. It’s a great location as you can get all around Cornwall from here. We visited Looe harbour and monkey sanctuary, Tintagel and went on the Bodmin steam railway. Will definitely visit again.

Lovely calm environment, great views always very welcoming and accommodating- dogs welcome too!! Well appointed accommation, we have stayed in Buzzard Barn and Apple Tree cottage both very comfortable. We will go back again. Great walks. Easy to get to Bodmin for food shopping and not far from the coast either.

Stayed in Cobnuts cottage, spent our holiday there looking for salmon and seatrout fishing in the Camel river. A beautiful location with choice of many trips around the North coast beaches. Lovely and clean cottage with great views across to the vineyard. Facilities are first class and I could be on the river fishing within five minutes. The bed was so comfortable that we overslept on our last morning, thanks Sam for waking us up! Both Sam and Rachel made us very welcome and nothing was too much trouble for them to make our holiday so enjoyable. Highly recommended for a restful holiday.

We had an amazing break at Butterwell Farm.We stayed in apple tree cottage and had the best time. The bedrooms were so pretty and the most comfy bed.A brilliant base for exploring the area .We are returning in the summer for another fix and can't wait , neither can our very boisterous sproker spaniel Chester xx

We have stayed in Cobnuts, a cottage on Butterwell Farm on more than one occasion. We love the location overlooking the Camel Valley. We love the morning walks with the dogs along the river and through the peaceful woodland. We especially love the direct access onto the Camel Trail which offers miles of walks in either direction. Turning east along the trail brings you to the Camel Trail tea garden where we have enjoyed many a cream tea and stunning fresh crab salad lunches.The cottage is always clean and beautifully presented and our hosts have been friendly and helpful but never 'in your face'

Butterwell is a great place to stay. Lovely location overlooking the camel valley with the vineyard opposite. Great for family’s as well as couples. Easy to reach the popular north Cornwall beaches and towns such as Padstow, Bude and St Ives which are all within driving distance for a day trip. Sam and Rachel are very welcoming and there is a great choice of cottages. I’ve been staying at Butterwell on and off now for over 15 years and I still always look forward to my visits.

Butterwell Farm offers a slice of cornish magic. It's a hidden gem, nestled on the slopes of the Camel Valley. The welcome, the accomodation, the obvious passion for the wildlife - Sam and Rachel are amazing hosts - making myself, my wife and two daughters feel instantly at home.We stayed several times, in both Apple Tree Cottage (great for families) and Kingfisher Lodge (perfect for a couples getaway).The accomodate is always spotless and is a home-from-home, arguably with better views.The grounds of Butterwell Farm are probably the best/quickest "work de-stresser" I've ever encountered - quiet evening strolls along the river bank are highly recommended - deer, fox, jumping fish and otter can all be spotted (if you can get the kids to be quiet).Top marks for a top location run by a top couple.

Butterwell Farm is beautifully located in the Camel valley, with direct access to the Camel Trail (walking and cycling to Wadebridge and Padstow). It is extremely peaceful with its own stretch of the Camel River. Ideal for nature watching and fishing. Very good value for money - 30 minutes from the Norh Cornwall beaches around Padstow, Rock and Trebetherick.

My family and our labrador stayed at Apple Tree Cottage in February 2022 and had a wonderful time.

We spent a delightful and relaxing week in the rustic Kingfisher Cabin. It was located in the most idyllic setting with views of the Jacobs sheep grazing in the fields, and with the River Camel just beyond. We even had our own private access to the Camel Trail. The cabin was stylish, comfortable and spacious. All that we could possibly have wished for. We will be back!!

We have stayed once at Butterwell Farm in the main house as a family and once as a couple in Cobnuts with our two dogs. The location is amazing, right beside the River Camel and a stones throw from the Camel Valley Vineyard. We highly recommend a visit to the vineyard. Excellent wines and views over the valley. The properties are beautifully presented, with all necessary amenities. Very spacious too, especially the main house which slept seven of us comfortably. Our hosts were exceptionally friendly and Jack even helped us change the battery in our vehicle, which annoyingly died the day after arrival. We would highly recommend a walk along the river. It is so peaceful and calming but if you're feeling energetic you can follow it all the way to Padstow! The location of Butterwell Farm requires you to use a vehicle to get to the many attractions on offer. The Eden project is one such attraction well worth a visit as is Padstow and Tintagel to visit the castle.We thoroughly enjoyed our stays at Butterwell and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone thinking of staying there. Five stars from us!

Kingfisher Cabin is in a wonderful location, is a great place to stay and dog friendly. It does get booked up quite quickly, so if you want to stay in this fabulous accommodation I suggest that you book early!!

Butterwell Farm is for us simply heaven. We have enjoyed over 10 holidays here and found every aspect of accommodation, location and sheer tranquility unsurpassable. Rachel and Sam are excellent hosts.

Butterwell Farm cottages are perfect in every way for a brilliant home from home holiday. We have stayed multiple times in Kingfisher Cabin and we'll be back twice more in 2023, so that says it all really. Fantastic location to access both north and south coasts, great places to eat not far away, lovely hosts, dog friendly, warm and cosy, quiet, tranquil and very well equipped - and as a special bonus, it's just a short stroll across the river from the amazing Camel Valley Vineyard - it's perfect in every way!

My wife and I booked the first time May 2021 to stay with our mothers and kids, post-Covid. Loved the place and the hosts, they looked after us and even provided loads of firewood and fresh eggs! Then we recommended Butterwell last year to an American friend and his fiancee, and they haven't stopped talking about it as the highlight of their trip to the UK.

We have been holidaying at Butterwell for a few years now, once at Cobnuts and many times now at the lovely Kingfisher cabin. I think that we are returning regularly speaks volumes and we cannot praise enough just what a lovely experience it is.So quiet with just songs from the birds and the rustle from the Camel river to break the sound of silence. Oh, and the odd sheep calling as they march along the river bank. The view along the valley is just amazing, but especially so we think as the sun rises and sets.The grounds are so vast and to be honest it took a few stays to really explore the 40 acres available to roam in, with something for all the family too. Our little Border Terrier loves the walks in the grounds too, and running round the cabin (all quite secure). If you are keen eyed you do get glimpses of the bird to which this cabin's name derives - which is always a thrill.The accommodation doesn't disappoint and has everything there you would have at home, making the stay such an easy transition - and always spotlessly clean. Lighting up the log burner in the colder months just enhances the evening experience, not that you need it as the cabin's heating system keeps you at the right temperature all of the time.Sam and Rachel are just lovely people who are always on hand to answer questions or to help with anything, but never intrude.Trying not to be too gushing, all in all its just a little bit of heaven that we think is fantastic - and such a contrast for us and the world we live in.

I have stayed here on several occasions. Mostly for the fishing. However it is also a perfect base for exploring Cornwall. The beaches are a short drive away and there are plenty of Local Pubs and restaurants in the near vicinity. The hosts are great and work very hard to look after guests requirements. Book a break here you won't be disapointed

A lovely cottage with peaceful and beautiful surroundings where you can connect to the wildlife and the nature and that’s what we exactly were looking for. My daughter had the opportunity to see different animals like sheep, hens, horses, birds, cows, a deer and all naturally free (not in a zoo!).It rarely happens that a place or a host can tick all the boxes, however this was the case for us. This property was just beautiful. The host very kind. We visited England for the first time and this place couldn’t be more perfect. With a big picture window overlooking the Camel river with rolling green hills, brought to mind what one thinks of when dreaming of a visit to England. We’ll never forget it.

Just perfect!The house is gorgeous and the surroundings are so peaceful.It is a real farm so there are sheep grazing and chickens too. It’s a doggo heaven and there are some very nice dog friendly beaches not far away. We also had a fantastic meal in Padstow, which was 30 minutes away. We hired bikes for the Camel Trail and that was good fun too. Highly recommend.

Excellent property in stunning location We stayed here as a group of 6 adults and an infant. The property was of a high standard, lovely and clean with plenty of room for all of us. All 3 bedrooms were spacious and beautifully dressed. The kitchen again was of a good size to fit us all for meals without being cramped and it had everything we could have needed.If you love nature then this property is a must, I like photography and I was in heaven! There is a river running at the bottom of the property and the wildlife is abundant, we saw lots of deer, both types of woodpecker, heron, nuthatch, chaffinch, grey wagtail, loads of squirrels and a tawny owl. I would revisit this property in a heartbeat!

If you are looking for a holiday rental house which is a short walk or a short drive from ANYTHING, then do not stay here, but if you are willing to drive awhile and would like a location which is central to Cornwall's best attractions (on both coasts) then you should be happy with this place as were my wife and I.

This has to be one of the best air bnbs we have ever stayed in! Our kids loved watching the sheep come through every morning and the stunning location reminded us to slow down and take life in a little bit! The house in it’s entirety was stunning from the building down to the decor and furniture ! This place is perfect for a family with a mixed age. Thanks for having us! X

A beautiful, cosy lodge in a superb location away from it all in the heart of the Cornish countryside. We loved our stay here, a real home from home with everything you could need. Clean, warm and homely, good for nights in infront of the log fire after active days out exploring the countryside. The cabin is a stones throw from the river with opportunities for wildlife lovers. With direct access to the Camel Trail, it is perfect for cyclists and walkers. We met Rachel and Sam who were delightful and couldn’t do enough to make sure our stay was perfect. Thank you. Stunning views, peaceful location. Well equipped and comfortable property. We had a super time staying at Apple Tree Cottage. The house had everything we needed and was clean and comfortable. Great location for access to Cornwall's stunning North Coast beaches and the Camel Trail. Walks along the river near the property were a highlight, as was feeding the chickens. We had a fantastic stay between Christmas and New Year. The cottage was the perfect size, with great views. Although the weather wasn't great, we had a wonderful time - the log-burning stove was a real plus, and the whole place is well appointed. Our dog had a great time too - the stair gate is a great touch for stopping dogs (or children!) exploring the downstairs bedrooms. Rachel and Sam were very helpful and responsive. We would love to come back in the summer when the weather is hopefully a bit more condusive to enjoying the beautiful Cornish countryside.

Booked last minute for. Christmas 2022. I can’t actually believe this place was still available considering how beautiful it is. The owner had decorated a real mini Christmas tree in the lounge which was a lovely touch. Honestly the nicest Airbnb I’ve ever stayed in. Beautiful surroundings, immaculate rooms, much bigger than it seems in the photos, warm, log fire and the beds are very comfortable. I cooked Christmas dinner here and found all the kitchenware I needed. It’s so peaceful and the cottage is so warm and modern without being soulless. Would love to visit again.

Rachel and Sam's cottage was absolutely perfect.It's in a particularly beautiful, peaceful location in the Camel valley with direct access to the river and a wonderful view - but only 10-15 minutes from Wadebridge with all facilities there. The cottage was extremely warm and toasty when we arrived and the 'upside-down' nature of the accommodation (bedrooms ground floor in the side of the hill, living space upstairs) meant the bedrooms were particularly cosy. The beds were extremely comfortable and the bathrooms and showers were fantastic! really hot water and loads of water pressure.Rachel and Sam accept dogs (essential for us) and there is a built in stair gate to keep the dogs out of the bedrooms. Obviously great for small children too!The cottage was spotless and communication throughout was excellent. We had a really enjoyable short break and I could not recommend the cottage highly enough.

Beautiful relaxing holiday This is our third year at Butterwell Farm, first time in the lodge. The lodge is very cosy & warm especially when it is pouring down outside! We loved sitting on the veranda in the pouring rain watching the river flow by & the sheep in the adjoining field. Our 3 dogs loved the enclosed garden and playing chase around the lodge. The fishing was a no go this year due to the river levels - but it doesn’t really matter as it is such a relaxing place to unwind. Highly recommended- thanks Rachel & Sam.

Sixth or seventh visit. Peaceful and perfect as ever Annual autumn pilgrimage for fishing - mostly sea trout - but probably spend more time just hanging out in this unbelievably beautiful place. Access to a long stretch of the river, which is mesmerising. We stay in Appletree Cottage out of habit - perfect for self-catering. Well equipped, clean, very comfortable. Have seen the inside of other Butterwell accommodation and it looks just as good - more characterful, even. Sam and Rachel run things faultlessly (Sam fishes and has plenty of good advice). One or two of the local pubs are a short journey by car and very good for food. Camel trail just over the river, Padstow not far.

Kingfisher Cabin Kingfisher Cabin is clean and comfortable. Lovely log burner heats up the cabin quickly. Super king sized bed. Underfloor heating in the bathroom (although we never needed to use it) and well stocked kitchen equipment. Sam and Rachel keep the cabin in great condition.Wonderful views and easy walk to Camel trail and Camel Valley vineyards. Highly recommend booking a table for drinks or a tour of the vineyards.Very dog friendly with lots of beach and woodland walks nearby.Plenty of places to eat within a short drive. Sunday roast at St Kews is amazing.This is our second visit and absolutely love the area and the farm. Looking forward to our next visit.

A wonderful stay in a beautiful part of Cornwall We had such a wonderful week staying in Apple Tree Cottage at Butterwell Farm. We spent several days cycling both ways along the camel trail which can be accessed traffic free from the property - perfect with our children, and the other days driving to some of our favourite Cornish beaches. It was a joy to return to the cottage and eat dinner in the garden with the most beautiful view across the valley and down to the river Camel. It was also nice to have plenty of things to cook a proper meal, unlike many of the properties we have stayed in previously. We stayed during a heatwave, but the property was airy and stayed relatively cool which we were grateful of. It is such an idyllic and peaceful spot, and lovely to be able to have some days out without needing to take the car. Thank you Rachel and Sam - we certainly hope to return to Apple Tree Cottage.

Buzzard Barn / Butterwell Farm Another brilliant & peaceful fortnight in this very comfortable barn conversion. Externally the countryside and views are simply stunning and the visiting herd of Jacobs sheep are a delight. The frontage onto the Camel river and walks in the farms woodlands are so relaxing with access across the river up onto the Camel Trail. Our dogs were in heaven 🐾🐾🐾.Internally the barn is well equipped, stylishly decorated throughout and comfortable. The WiFi connection is good.

Peaceful & Tranquil We have left our hearts in Cornwall!! What an amazing week we have had. Thankyou so much to Rachel & Sam for being such great hosts. (Inc a trip to the Post Office 🙏💕) This is such a gorgeous, romantic cottage with everything you could possibly need. The location was perfect as we were able to walk from their esate straight onto the Camel Trail & walk for miles with the dogs, they had a great time! We also spent time in Padstow, Rock, Tintagel & The Lost Gardens of Heligan. (Everywhere is so dog friendly) All in easy reach from Cobnuts. We would highly recommend this stay & we would love to return!

We stayed here at the cabin for 1 night. The cabin itself was immaculate with a real countryside vibe and the location was very tranquil and buzzing with wildlife. Because we only stayed the 1 night we didnt have much chance to go and explore but made the most of chilling around the cabin instead. The stay was very enjoyable and was topped off by having the log burner on in the evening. Would definitely stay here again. Great accommodation & great hosts.

Fantastic base for cycling trip Butterwell was a superb base for a group of 8 of us who wanted to spend a few days mountain biking and relaxing in the UK. The facilities were first class - clean rooms, hot and strong showers, spacious communicable areas…and the breakfasts were first class! Also, as a host, San couldn’t have been more helpful - giving us tips on routes to follow and keeping the ‘Tribute’ stocked up!

Second to non accommodation, fantastic area. We really enjoyed our stay in the Cabin. Everything we needed and more. The views were beautiful and we spotted many different birds. Looking forward to having another holiday there.

We’ve stayed in quite a few holiday cottages and apartments etc. but easily can say this is the best place we have ever stayed. The location is just perfect if you want to get close to nature. We didn’t need the TV, we spent hours watching the birds and wildlife all around the cabin. The cabin itself is first class in all respects, clean, well equipped kitchen, nice bathroom with plenty of hot water and a good shower. Comfortable bed. Plenty of logs for that cosy log burner in the evenings. Great location, very close to the Camel trail. Rachel and Sam have obviously worked very hard to make this a fantastic place to stay.

Idyllic retreat This was our 2nd visit to Kingfisher Cabin and once again we felt the stress float away when we saw the views, heard the birds and the river, this is definitely not our last visit to Butterwell. Kingfisher cabin is tucked away in a private quiet corner with everything you could need for a very relaxing stay. It was very clean and fresh with the log burner set up ready to light. If you are looking for a beautiful place to stay in Cornwall you will not be disappointed with Kingfisher Cabin, unless it’s fully booked!

Fabulous A lovely, peaceful hideaway in the depths of a beautiful valley. Perfect for doing nothing...relaxing and enjoying the log fire. The barn has all you need to be comfortable and enjoy your stay. The kitchen is well equipped, The water hot, the logs plentiful and the beds comfortable. The information pack is perfect for instructions on how to light the fire and other necessary details.The Camel Trail is perfect for dog walking and blowing the cobwebs away. This was our second visit- we will be booking again.

Idyllic We were delighted from the minute we arrived . Cosy and immaculate cottage in ideal position with stunning views across the Camel valley. Quiet and peaceful situation perfect for enjoying nature The kitchen was very well equipped with quality appliances . Beds super comfortable, bathroom and shower great . The garden was perfect for our little dog who enjoyed the company of the Jacob sheep in the neighbouring field .The Barn was in a perfect position for visiting the Camel trail, the vineyard and Padstow but sufficiently off the main tourist route

A stunning cabin in a beautiful part of Cornwall. Perfect if you’re looking for a quiet retreat, the only sounds around are of the river at the bottom of the garden, local wildlife and the burning fire. Great Escape Just a wonderful little place tucked into the beautiful Camel Valley. Spotless and very well finished and appointed upside down home with elevated views to the river and to the vineyard, enjoying all the benefits of the Camel Way. Wished we taken bikes even for bleak December. The Butterwell Farm run all this so well and deserve the acclaim they must so evidently enjoy. Even the beds and the linen - like a top hotel.

We had a wonderful stay at the cabin. My only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. The place was perfect for us and our two dogs. It was immaculately clean and comfortable and the little fireplace after a long day hiking in the rain was amazing. We would definitely recommend and would love to stay here again if we were ever back in the area.

It was a really great week for us, and especially for my wife who's 60th birythday treat this was, staying at Apple Tree Cottage. We were able to have several walks along the Camel and on various beaches and were so lucky with the weather. You are situated in a lovely spot and very well placed for both north and south coasts and you are both welcoming hosts - thank you for your tips and help during the week.

The River side cabin was absolutely stunning , everything you need for a short stay or longer . Perfect location and almost on the doorstep is the camel trail or you have the coast 30 mins away . Everything was easy check in check out etc , communication also excellent . We highly recommend a stay here .

Fabulous spacious well equipped cabin exactly as per the pictures. Situated in a beautiful location. Stayed in November taking full advantage of the brilliant wood-burner making it a lovely cosy and relaxing experience. Would definitely return and highly recommend this great little find.

Blissful This is a truly wonderful place to stay. The cottage is very comfortable and has everything you need. The surrounding garden and land is just amazing. It is a stones throw from a beautiful river and the fishing is fabulous. The hosts are lovely and have perfected the art of being friendly, helpful but leaving you to get on with it. We will most definitely return and already I can’t wait!

Lovely, peaceful stay. The cottage was very clean and spacious for us. Great location for visiting Padstow and St Austell. Sam was really friendly and made us feel really welcome.

We had a fabulous stay at the Riverside Cabin. It is in a beautiful location, tucked in the valley right next to the river, the Camel Valley trail and looking up towards the vineyards. Sam and Rachel have thought of everything. The cabin is spacious but cosy, super clean and really well equipped with fantastic information on things to do and places to go. The cabin has a full length balcony and secure garden looking down over the river. The location provides easy access to the North Cornwall coast. We managed to do so much in our short break: coastal walks around Polzeath, Padstow and Port Isaac; up onto Bodmin Moor; and a quick jaunt up to the vineyard for wine tasting on the terrace as the sun went down. A perfect 3 day break!

Exciting fishing at a perfect riverside retreat This was our fifth visit to Butterwell for a long weekend's fishing.Rachel and Sam offered up a warm welcome and we settled into our favourite Apple Tree Cottage, complete with a well-appointed kitchen, cozy sitting room and comfortable bedrooms. The standard of accommodation is very high, and spotlessly clean.Since our last visit cottage has been enhanced by the addition of a fishing hut to store the rods and other tackle, complete with a secluded picnic table and its own BBQ / woodburner. On our first evening I watched a sunset murmuration of rooks over the vineyard on the other side of the Camel valley. We also saw deer and a stoat during our weekend.Arriving in low water we spent the first day walking and spotting small sea trout in the clear pools, before enjoying the dramatic spectacle of a spate, which made for exciting fishing over the rest of our weekend; from the well-managed upper pools, through the beats to the wild sections in the woods below.Thanks Rachel and Sam - can't wait for our next visit.

Buzzard Barn Beautiful barn in a beautiful setting, lovely views of the vineyard and countryside from all windows. Well equipped and comfortable accommodation. Owners very helpful and answered query’s immediately. We have two anxious dogs so worried that the other properties would be too close but actually this was not the case and very private. However there are sheep in the paddocks around so if your dogs likely to chase or jump small fence then would need to keep them on lead. We did so and this was not a problem nor hinder us in anyway. Great walks from barn takes you to a local tea room which has lovely cream tea and only 30 mins approx from beaches. Would recommend.

Very accommodating hosts with fantastic communication. We had THE BEST first family holiday in the perfect location, it is simply beautiful with the Camel Trail literally on your door step. Would definitely return and recommend.

Fantastic barn Buzzard Barn was one of the best accommodations I have stayed in. The location of the barn makes it so easy to visit every part of Cornwall and we did. The barn is very comfy and clean and the owners were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back.

Cobnuts The location location is beautiful and quiet right on the camel river. You can walk straight through the Estate on to the Camel Trail giving access to the Camel Valley vineyard. There is also a garden cafe and a good pub if you head towards Bodmin on the trail. Great for cyclists.You can access beach walks by car which are great for dog walks.The property was clean and tidy, warm and welcoming and well stocked. The bed was very comfortable.Sam and Rachel were wonderful hosts.

A great place to stay in North Cornwall I've stayed at Butterwell many times in the past although not since Sam and Rachel took over the reins and it was good to be back. We had a great week despite the changeable weather and managed to make numerous trips out to local beaches, coastal towns and places like Golitha Falls which is well worth a visit. The dog friendly accommodation was great, all set in a stunning location overlooking the river Camel. I'm already looking forward to visiting again next year.Many thanks to Sam and Rachel.

Perfect Cornish cottage in beautiful setting. Our second stay at Butterwell Farm and Cobnuts is a super cute, comfortable, clean, well-equipped cottage for two (plus doggy friends) in the beautiful River Camel valley.It has lovely private, enclosed (dog-proof) garden areas with views down the wooded valley and across the river to the Camel Valley Vineyard. A great central base for exploring Cornwall or just chilling in the glorious surroundings and enjoying the local flora and fauna. Would highly recommend and we will be returning again soon!

Kingfisher Cabin, Nantstallon, Cornwall This was the second time we stayed at Kingfisher Cabin and our stay was as delightful and relaxing as the first time. The setting, on a lovely private stretch of the River Camel, is magical. The cabin is exceptionally comfortable and well equipped. It is an excellent place to stay if you are looking to explore this part of Cornwall. It is also super dog friendly.

A little piece of heaven After a long break due to Covid we finally returned to Buzzard Barn and as ever we were delighted. The upgraded facilities (internal and external) are excellent. The setting is superb, we were enchanted.A gem of a holiday cottage.

Fantastic What a jewel! A fantastic find that we shall book again and again. No attention to detail spared including instructions on how to set and light the log burner. Everything was spotless and evidently concerned about our environment with cleaning products suitable. Amazing views. Fantastic walks. Just wonderful.

Fantastic Break We made a last minute booking to stay at Apple Tree Cottage for a short break. The three bedroom cottage is very spacious, clean and comfortable, with beautiful views in all directions and a lovely secure garden with a very handy bike store a swing in the garden, a picnic bench and stone barbecue. We had a wonderful stay and would have loved to have been able to stay longer. Accessibility to the North and South Coast is great from the area. The Camel Trail can be accessed from the property along a lovely walk by the river. The trail offers great off road cycling in the direction of Padstow via Wadebridge or Bodmin, the trail surface is also very good. Butterwell Farm is a hidden gem, the owners are lovely and helpful with tips about the area. They are doing a great job especially in such trying times with Covid 19. Both Rachel and Sam have things extremely well set up and are very professional. All the properties have separate access and outdoor space with no shared gardens, we were impressed with the steps that are being taken for visitors to enjoy a safe stay.All in all Butterwell is a fabulous place to stop, it is very peaceful and secluded, we will definitely rebook to visit again and thoroughly recommend the accommodation to anyone considering it for their holiday.

A great little cottage in a very pretty setting near the river. Perfect for a few nights stay. Easy to walk the dog. Very comfy bed! We needed a little bed for our 3 yr old and Rachel and Sam accommodated with a lovely set up, perfect for our stay.

We had such a lovely freeway days at Cobnuts.. so lucky with the weather and the decking was full of birds , bees and butterflies.. The view is stunning and the river walks rally special.. Everything super clean and comfy and the cottage is really spacious.. a wonderful find..

Peaceful and Tranquil We have been to Butterwell farm 5 times, we have stayed at Buzzard barn and Cobnuts. Our last visit was at Cobnuts. We absolutely love it here. As soon as we get out of the car stresses just drift away. We love a walk by the river, we saw at least 6 trout this time. A great place to fish. They are COVID aware, everything is clean and spotless. We had a visit twice aday from mrs hornet and a lovely field mouse, outside of course. The garden is beautiful. if you need to contact the owners they answer straight away. We had a power cut whilst there , Rachel kept us informed, it was the fault of the power company. Only out for a couple of hours so no problem. If you want a peaceful secluded hideaway this is the place for you.

Beautiful cottage in a lovely location. A lovely cottage with 3 Double bedrooms, all with their own bathroom. We've been a couple of time now and intend to go again.It feels like you are in the middle of nowhere, but it's easy to access the main routes for travel around the county. We saw deer and a Kingfisher, the Camel river runs through the grounds.It's right on the Camel Trail so there are loads of beautiful walks or bike rides (Padstow is about 50 mins on a bike, 20 in a car) There are even some MTB trails nearby. Within 10 mins walk there are Tea Rooms serving cream teas and also a vineyard for tasting and buying local wines.

We had an amazing time in the Kingfisher cabin at Butterwell farm with its peaceful outlook adjacent to the camel trail. It is situated in an ideal location to explore Cornwall. The cabin had everything you can think off for a perfect stay.

Family visit to Butterwell Farm in magical Camel Valley We visited Butterwell Farm for a fortnight in two cottages after months of lockdown in London. Sam and Rachel, our hosts, warmly welcomed us and kept us supplied with advice, fresh eggs and logs for the fires. The properties were clean and tidy, fully-equipped, and the space was very generous with three full bathrooms in the larger cottage and private gardens for all cottages. Butterwell Farm is 10 minutes from Bodmin, and situated just half an hour's drive from either Padstow to the North or Fowey to the South. Eden Project is closer. On the other side of the beautiful green valley runs the famous Camel Trail, where the excellent Vineyard and Tearooms beckon, and the birdsong was incredible. We look forward to our next visit.

If you’re looking for a beautiful log cabin, amazing views and peace and quiet, then look no further! The cabin is amazing, lovely decked area for looking at the amazing views of the lake and farm animals! Log fire at night was absolutely stunning and the cabin was immaculately cleaned! Trust me, if you’re thinking and not sure, you wokt regret it, get it booked!

We had a wonderful, relaxing stay here, the rural setting is beautiful and the location is fantastic for exploring Cornwall. The cabin is fully equipped with everything needed to ensure a comfortable stay, we loved lighting the log burner in the evenings which made it extra cosy. Our 2 year old was very happy here and enjoyed exploring the tranquil outdoor grounds.

Rachel & Sam have a truly stunning property in a fabulous location, very breathtaking views and peaceful. The property itself is well equipped and homely. The hosts are so accommodating and helpful. You have to book to truly understand how amazing this place is.

Absolutely perfect for our first trip as a family! We are in love with Cornwall and with Butterwell Farm... We stayed at the Apple Tree Cottage and we will definitely come back again! the cottage is absolute incredible, really clean, incredible look after and with a lot of love around it - you can tell how much hard work and love Sam and Rachel put on it! I can't get enough of that view, the chickens, the sheep, the flowers, the river and the secret places around the farm that you can discover while having a beautiful walk.My 11 month old daughter loved the places as much as we did - big space for her to crawl & play, big private garden just for us with a two swings just for her and me! she was all over the moon. The master bed is really big and super comfortable... I think we had the best sleep in a very long time! The small details in the house are so well look after... We had a really lovely weather so we missed the opportunity to light the fire in the beautiful log burner, but instead we had romantic dinners in our gardens with the stone BBQ that its available looking at the sunset. What's not lo love!The location is perfect - basically everything no far than 20 minutes away (perfect!) - you can easily go to Padstow for a lovely walk, fish & chips and of course some fudge, or you can go to Newquay for some surf, yoga in the beach and why not some more fish and chips on the beach 🙂 and so many other villages to discover around! also great outdoor activities for kids like The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Eden project…We have definitely find our second home for all our Cornwall trips!Peter, Carla & Cristina

What a great little find! We decided to take a trip to Cornwall and found this lovely cottage, the location was great as we were able to explore a lot of Cornwall and not have to spend too long in the car with children. The cottage is immaculate, Sam and Rachel were great hosts and took the time to get to know our family and let the kids feed their chickens. There is a lovely lake at the bottom which the children spent time at. We would certainly return.

This place is beautiful - great decor, amazing location and incredible views! Everything you need is here including the sheep neighbours. Great walks on your doorstop around the grounds and direct access to the Camel Trail.

Easily the best Airbnb we have ever stayed in. The cottage has everything you will need (including a fire), and set in the most amazing location with the river, farm animals roaming, winery and tea rooms in walking distance. Blissful peace A well kitted out comfortable cabin for 2. Very private. Enclosed grounds. Very rural area. On 40 acre site along banks of river Camel. Owners have fishing rights and in season this is a thriving business. Sheep roam freely so dogs must be kept on lead at all times. Eco friendly environment. Log burner which super heats the cabin. Well appointed bathroom with shower over bath.Bed 6' wide and comfortable. Really enjoyed our stay. May return.If I was wishing for some icing on the cake I would have loved there to be a couple of more comfy outdoor chairs in addition to the little bistro set.

An absolutely gorgeous location and amazing private access to the Camel Trail from the cottage. The estate was beautiful to walk around in the evening and it was super special to spot lots of wildlife down by the river.The cottage was lovely and very clean with an amazing log burner and good storage for our bikes. I little bit of heaven in the Cornish countryside We had a fabulous stay at Buzzard Barn, part of Butterwell Farm. The property was charming, clean, well decorated, private and quiet, it had amazing views across the valley and fantastic outside spaces, the perfect place to unwind after such a stressful year! Sam and Rachel we fantastic hosts, really welcoming us.we didn't visit during the fishing season, but would come back to give fly fishing ago and to continue explore the area that has so much to offer.

This was our first trip after lockdown and what a great choice of destination! The house is really big and comfortable, with 3 huge bedrooms and bathrooms. The outdoor area is a charm with bbq area and a swing for the kids. It was the perfect spot to end the day facing the river and the valley with some wine and bbq. Hosts are friendly and helpful. The location is great, really close to the camel trail, the vineyard and about 20ish minutes from the nearest beaches. Definitely recommend.

We stayed in Cobnuts at Butterwell, Rachel and Sam have been quick to respond to correspondence, and very helpful as we’ve had to re arrange twice due to Covid. But we got there and have had a perfect week. Instructions for everything from check in to departure all very clear. Everything in the cottage clean plus one of the most comfy beds I’ve ever slept in. We lit the wood burner each evening and had a plentiful supply of wood. Walks up to the Camel Trail easy, and everywhere we wanted to see was only a short car journey. All in all a fab few days, Butterwell and Cobnuts perfect for our much needed break. Harry our Springer loved it to, curled up asleep by the fire every night

We’ve stayed at Rachel and Sam’s lovely cottage more than once and I’m sure we’ll keep returning. The cottage and surrounding area are picture perfect. The cottage is spotless, communication was excellent and I would thoroughly recommend to all.

Cosy getaway We had the best time here! The cabin is situated above an unspoilt view of the river Camel, along with the beautiful scenery. The wood burner makes the evenings cosy and romantic. The cabin is a perfect couple getaway! the Bodmin jail and slate mine are worth a visit! Woods cafe do the best cream tea. The borough arms is perfect for evening pub grub!

This place has incredible views and the perfect get away spot. Not far from local places to drive and the trial is a lovely walk...would highly recommend and would go back again.

The best fishing holiday ever. This was an amazing escape from Covid because we have been isolated since March with an elderly parent. The lovely private stay at Butterwell Farm gave us all the change we needed. The estate gave us the freedom to roam alone whilst also giving a much needed change of scene for the whole family. We stayed at Apple Tree Cottage which is so much better than the pictures on the website. Loads of room for a multi generation family with a bedroom & bathroom downstairs for Granny & fabulous en-suite bedrooms upstairs for us. Granny loved the cottage and the log fire x Absolutely huge and really comfortable. We have 3 crazy cocker spaniels who adored the large front garden & amazing walks around the estate including their very own paddock for free running. Doggie heaven. Every facility is available in the cottage, nothing needed - the log burner with free logs was superb. Especially after fishing all day along a fabulous stretch of the River Camel. Hubby was happy with a trout on the first day & the promise of more catches lurking in the deep pools. Honestly the best fishing accommodations & holiday in 10 years. Sam walks the beat with you and offers any support needed to get that elusive catch! We will be back in 2021 - thank you Rachel & Sam x

Ideal location for touring north Cornwall. We love going this time of the year as places are quite and not too busy. Lovely coming back to the wood burner with a well seasoned stack of logs.

Excellent location We stayed in The Kingfisher Cabin for two people. Very clean and very well equipped with a nice touch of leaving binoculars. The location is superb with clear views of the Camel river (about 100m) and it felt really quite isolated. My husband had fly fishing instruction with Sam and he said, despite very heavy rain, how good the teaching was. We only had a short two night stay but would go again, perhaps at a warmer time of year ,to explore the area more. It’s opposite a vineyard and Camel Trail.

A truly idyllic location overlooking the River Camel and onto the Camel Valley Vineyards but still within close reach of amenities in Bodmin and Wadebridge and not too far from all the beautiful beaches of North Cornwall.The barn is beautifully done, fully equipped kitchen and a gorgeous garden with plenty of walking routes from the back gate. It was spotlessly clean and the extra measures taken for Covid19 were excellent and clearly explained.Sam and Rachel were easily contactable and quick to respond to any questions we had.Couldn’t recommend highly enough!

We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Kingfisher Cabin, it exceeded our expectations in every way possible. The location was out of this world, right on the river, the scenery and wildlife were amazing. We can’t wait to visit again.

The cottage was spacious, warm, and exceptionally clean. We had a fabulous, relaxing family holiday. Rachel and Sam were kind and thoughtful hosts.

We had a wonderful stay at Butterwell Farm. Rachel and Sam were extremely helpful and accommodating and the cottage was exactly as described. We will be returning.

The kingfisher cabin was in an ideal spot , blissfully peaceful and immaculate . Plenty to explore and would love to go back soon
