This group of 8 mountain bikers from Guernsey recently enjoyed a 4 night stay at Butterwell Farm in Cornwall, taking both Buzzard Barn and Apple Tree Cottage to have plenty of space and bathrooms. They went for miles every day and explored many incredible trails all directly accessible from Butterwell Farm. They covered a lot of ground on runs from gentle traverses to optional red and black runs covering local forestry woodlands of Grogley, Bishops, Cotton and Hustyns Woods. They also used the direct access to the Camel Trail to cycle on tracks to designated bike tracks at Cardinham Woods and reach Brown Willy – the highest peak in Cornwall on Bodmin Moor! Local mountain bike guides are available to book to help you get the most out of your cycling holiday. All of their bikes were conveniently and safely stored in Apple Tree Cottage’s large dedicated private bike store (we are soon to be installing a similar facility at Buzzard Barn). They brought their own bikes but it’s just as easy to hire bikes and having them dropped at Butterwell. If this appeals to you no matter your group size, get in touch to experience some of the best mountain biking trails in the country! There were plenty of good places to stop on route and eat in the evenings. We are on hand to provide directions on the tracks and good recommendations on restaurants, pubs and cafes!
