As we bid farewell to a fantastic summer of sunshine and fun at Butterwell Farm, we think back to all of the faces, both familiar and new, and we hope you have some amazing memories to treasure of your time at Butterwell!

Buzzard Barn is our last property still available for Christmas week – make this a Christmas to remember at Butterwell Farm, overlooking the river on a crisp winters day is a magical spot to be.

A summer of fun and projects as always! We have a new bike/rod shed at Buzzard Barn. Even those of you without bikes or rods may enjoy the dart board installed just inside the door! We’ve started putting a little bag of chicken feed in the properties for our younger guests to come and feed the chickens which they have all loved, and with our new booking system you’re able to reserve your fresh Butterwell eggs in advance to be in your property on arrival – what could be better! Some of you more adventurous lot may have found our new woodland swing, the most idyllic spot overlooking the river. We made hay while the sun shone ready to feed our flock of jacobs this winter, and they are in lovely condition ready for our ram which will be arriving in the next few weeks. Fingers crossed many of our spring guests will have beautiful baby lambs bouncing about the place during their stays in 2023. For the first time this year we sold our lamb directly to guests, and it went down a storm, you can’t beat free range, grass fed, local lamb. We also now have some stunning sheepskins to sell. If you are interested please get in touch. This winter we will be getting stuck into our next renovation project at Cobnuts Cottage, and we look forward to sharing the progress and results with you.

The end of the summer also sees the close of the night sea trout fishing season. We closed with 55 in the book, with the largest of 7lb caught by Wayne Heard. We look forward to seeing many of you on the river banks this autumn/winter for our daytime salmon season.
